Elegant Healdsburg Wedding

The personal touches from this wedding are on another level of cute. From the custom stickers (made by Duet AI, from the bride as a Google employee) on their boba teas to the incredible choreographed dancing at their reception, the fashion (velvet! yes please!) – it all just makes our heart sing. The Montage Healdsburg and California wine country is beautiful in the autumn, which made the perfect setting for this elegant wedding.

“To prepare for wedding planning, we read ‘The Art of Gathering’ by Priya Parker. One of the fundamental principles in the book was to make sure you had a central intentions when going into the event design. With that in mind we set our intentions were threefold 1) make sure our guests had a lovely time, 2) honor our families and 3) have a great dance floor – we both love to dance and met through Ballroom! This translated to an event that was laidback but elegant, had a great dance floor (as we all love to dance), and had several spaces to gather and spend quality time with each other. After visiting the Montage, we fell in love with the venue and thought it would be the perfect space for our wedding.”

“He knew he wanted to do something a little different than a classic black tux and went with a lovely velvet blue jacket, tying in with the velvet of the bridesmaids. His first dance outfit was also made to order featuring more velvet and a sparkly tie, paying homage to the ballroom roots.”

“We wanted something clean, elegant, and timeless for the ceremony, and something warm and inviting for dinner. We also wanted to make sure the florals took guests comfort into account so we made sure centerpieces were right sized and aisles were easy to navigate. We also had Grace’s mom do the bouquets and boutonnieres as she used to be a florist! It was so special to have her make these details and be such an important part of our day.”

“Our wedding was on Nov-11 (11-11) so we had a little bit of a theme on wishes. We had bubble wands instead of rice or petals for the recessional for guests to “blow bubbles of wishes” as we exited. It was joint dream to have boba at our wedding, so we also served boba tea (also known as bubble tea). To make it extra special, we used Duet AI for Google Workspace to generate a picture of our kitties and topped each cup with the adorable image. Our boba wall was both cute and functional serving as our seating table as well.”

“We worked with Standard Event Rental to bring in some pieces, in particular the lounge furniture for our evening. We absolutely loved the velvet couches and chairs with leather and gold accents. It brought such a cool element to the evening and was such a great place to use when catching up with old friends.”
